C3001 - Why doesn't my library decrease in size after I delete part of it?

by - Joseph Ganci

Am I right that Authorware 4 does not decrease the size of a library after I delete icons from the library?

You must save the library under a different name or perform a save and compact under a different name to see the library size decrease. The same is true of your main Authorware files. Authorware, like most other Windows programs, such as Microsoft Word, performs a "Fast Save" when it saves. Deleted portions are simply marked and never seen again. When you save to a different name, those deleted parts are stripped out, and you end up with a smaller file.
